Once Garden City's Ben Wiese and CJ Bravo clicked, there was no stopping state tennis champs

Ben Wiese and CJ Bravo were regular-season singles players who turned into double trouble in the postseason as an unbeatable tennis duo for Garden City.
“We know where we need to be on the court,” Wiese said.
Wiese, the nearly 6-7 sophomore, and Bravo, the 5-8 junior, won all five matches to take the Nassau boys doubles title, then five more to secure the state’s public schools doubles crown after a fifth-place showing in 2025.
“You could tell during counties, they were more confident this year, more mature, better shots,” Trojans coach Jen Soper said. “They really just worked super hard. And they knew what the end goal was and they wanted it and they took it.”
Bravo and Wiese, whose sister, Nina, claimed a state singles championship in 2023, were undefeated in singles, too.
“Doubles are so much [more fun] than singles to be honest,” Bravo said. “I love to play with this guy.”
