Newsday's annual list of the top 25 Long Island high school boys tennis players, listed in alphabetical order, for this spring. All stats listed are from last season unless otherwise noted.

Will Bohner, Friends Academy, Sr.

Bohner capped an excellent season by helping Friends Academy to its first small school team state championship. The Trinity College commit took third place in singles at the Nassau individual championships and reached the round of 16 in the state tournament.

CJ Bravo (Jr.) and Benjamin Weise (Soph.), Garden City

Bravo and Weise, both exceptional singles players, teamed up to become the No. 1 doubles team in Nassau. The pair placed fifth in the state tournament. These two left-handed players were known for their unbeatable combination: Weise’s size (6-4) and Bravo’s speed.

Jason Chan, Manhasset, Sr.

Chan advanced to the quarterfinals of the Nassau individual championships. With promising experience in both singles and doubles, Chan will be a strong asset in Manhasset’s lineup.

Nicholas Chin (Jr.) and Hiroto Honda (Jr.), Jericho

Chin and Honda proved to be tough to beat when they paired up. The team placed second in the Nassau individual championships and made it to the round of 16 in the state tournament. Chin also went 15-0 in singles..

Jagger Cohen, Ross, Sr.

Cohen will help lead Ross in its goal to advance to the state tournament for the first time in program history. He made it to the round of 16 in the Suffolk individual championships.

Tyler Finkelstein (Sr.) and Ollie Navo (Sr.), Port Washington

Finkelstein and Navo went 12-2 and stood out as one of the best doubles teams in the conference. This will be their third year playing together. They both have great groundstrokes and know when to poach at the net.

Kai Hidaka (Soph.) and Ray Hidaka (Sr.), Shoreham-Wading River

The Hidakas paired up to dominate Division IV and ultimately place fourth in Suffolk, earning a trip to the state tournament. After shutting out their opponents 6-0, 6-0 in the first round, Ray and Kai fell in the second round to the eventual state champions. The brothers are hungry for another trip to Flushing Meadows.

Luke Jensen, Bayport-Blue Point, Sr.

Jensen will play at the top of the Phantoms’ lineup as Bayport-Blue Point seeks the elusive Suffolk small school title. He made it to the round of 16 in the doubles bracket of the Suffolk individual championships.

Evan Lee, Syosset, Sr.

After a two-year hiatus from high school tennis, Lee is returning to Syosset for his senior season. He played second singles as a freshman, and will now play the top of the lineup in hopes of leading Syosset on another state championship run.

Vidal Macchia, Floyd, Soph.

Macchia finished sixth in Suffolk, posting an individual record of 17-5.

Aayan Mehta (Sr.) and Nikhil Shah (Sr.), Syosset

Mehta and Shah went on a deep run in the state tournament, finishing sixth overall. Mehta went 19-3 and Shah finished 14-4 in singles and make for a powerful doubles team.

Ignacio Pena Lopez, Ross, Jr.

Pena Lopez won the Suffolk IV singles title and took fourth in the Suffolk individual championships. He will anchor Ross’ lineup as they fight to defend their county team title.

Ishaanth Reddy Guduru, Smithtown West, Sr.

Reddy Guduru was a quarterfinalist in the Suffolk individual championships. He was also a member of Newsday’s All-Long Island second team.

Brody Surbeck, Harborfields, Sr.

Surbeck has been a mainstay in the county tournament since his freshman year. He features a terrific serve and powerful groundstrokes. Alongside his older brother, Nolan, who graduated, Surbeck made it to the round of 16 in the Suffolk doubles tournament.

Aidan Thomas, Ward Melville, Jr.

Thomas went undefeated at 11-0 in regular-season singles and 11-3 in doubles, including individual and team playoffs. He finished as a quarterfinalist in the Suffolk individual championships.

Brian Toh, Roslyn, Sr.

Toh made a strong run in the Nassau individual championships, finishing in the quarterfinals of the doubles bracket.  He will be an anchor for Roslyn in both singles and doubles.

Leonardo Villacreses, Sachem, Sr.

Villacreses finished second in Suffolk and made it to the round of 16 in the state tournament. His consistency, hard forehand and backhand and smart tennis should take him even further into the bracket this year.

Tommy Walsh, Half Hollow Hills East, Sr.

Walsh is a consistent powerhouse for Hills East. At doubles, he was a semifinalist in the Suffolk individual championships and advanced to the round of 16 at the state tournament.

Preston Wang, Jericho, Soph.

Wang recorded a 7-5 record at first singles with each loss being a close match.

Alan Yu, Half Hollow Hills West, Sr.

Yu made it to the quarterfinal round of the Suffolk individual championships.  He will help lead Hills West at the top of the lineup.
