Mets and Yankees fans will have to wait until Sunday’s Subway Series finale to watch the games on the teams’ networks.
The first battle of the Big Apple on Friday night will be only on Apple TV. A subscription is required — unless you happen to be in Times Square, where the streaming service will be showing the game for free on a giant screen.
Former Mets radio announcer Wayne Randazzo will handle play-by-play for the 7:15 p.m. showdown along with analyst Dontrelle Willis and reporter Heidi Watney.
Saturday night’s 7:15 p.m. game will be on Fox with the broadcasting crew of Joe Davis, John Smoltz and Ken Rosenthal.
SNY and YES Network will air postgame shows on Friday and Saturday but not pregame shows.
Sunday’s 1:40 p.m. game will be televised on SNY and YES. This is a change from recent seasons, when ESPN usually would take the Sunday Subway Series game and move it to prime time for “Sunday Night Baseball.”
ESPN gave up the Sunday night package this season, with NBC and Peacock taking over. This week’s national game — which is on Peacock only — is San Diego at Seattle.
All three Subway Series games will be on radio, of course: ESPN NY 880 for the Mets and WFAN 660 AM/101.9 FM for the Yankees.
On Friday, WFAN will broadcast its daytime shows from the MLB Flagship Store in Manhattan, starting with “The Warm Up Show” at 5 a.m. and going all the way to Yankees pregame at 6:35 p.m.
Special guests throughout the day will include former Yankees and Mets players Mariano Rivera, John Franco, Al Leiter, Dellin Betances and Darryl Strawberry. The store will be open to the public from 6 a.m.-6:30 p.m.
