Brandon Tierney wasn't happy with Gregg Giannotti. And now Gregg Giannotti isn't happy with Brandon Tierney.

Last March, Giannotti called into "BT and Sal" on WFAN's mid-day show as "Frank in Bayside" and pranked him with a false claim about Tierney drinking with St. John's players after a game.

Last week, Tierney appeared on WFAN's current mid-day show with Evan Roberts and Tiki Barber to talk about St. John's in the NCAA Tournament and called Giannotti a "bad teammate" once he learned that it was Giannotti making the prank call.

On Monday, Giannotti returned the favor. And then some.

“He is someone who takes things way too seriously," Giannotti said on the air. "He can’t laugh at himself, and he doesn’t get it. And if he did, and he showed a little bit more personality and could laugh at himself, maybe he would have had more success here.

“Everybody that worked with Brandon couldn’t stand him … people hated working with that guy. He’s the bad teammate. He would trash his producers. He would belittle them. So don’t tell me I’m a bad teammate because you can’t take a joke.”

Here's a clip of Giannotti's comments:

Tierney, whose contract at WFAN was not renewed at year's end when Craig Carton returned, opened his "BT Unleashed" podcast Monday on YouTube by addressing the comments. (Watch the full episode below. Note: Some language is NSFW.)

"When I said that Gregg was not a good teammate, I was talking about the prank," Tierney said. "Let's be very clear about that. I didn't know. Gregg never told me. I didn't know until the other day.

"There's certain things I don't do and there's certain things I would never do, and that's one of them."

Tierney discussed the issues for nearly 25 minutes, much of the time spent talking directly to Giannotti. Tierney defended his record as a teammate and said to Giannotti, “I know you’re going to be talking about this again on the show tomorrow. Are we just going to keep going back and forth with this? I’d prefer not to, but ....”
