Beach bars and amusement parks on Long Island open after Labor Day

Summer fun is still going strong on Long Island after Labor Day.
Here's when to expect some of your favorite warm-weather Long Island venues like beach bars and amusement parks to close for the season:
Open through Sept. 26: Flynn's

The hot spot offers weekly dinner boat cruises (Sept. 11-12 and Sept. 18) from Captree Boat Basin at Captree State Park in Bay Shore aboard the Moon Chaser. Or take the ferry to Flynn's for live music 5-8 p.m. Sept. 12-13. Guests can stop by for dinner through Sept. 26.

Open since 1926, the luncheonette is a good stopping point for breakfast on your way to the beach or drinks after a day of swimming. Try a lobster roll, "the big easy" shrimp wrap or a blueberry bliss with vodka, blueberry syrup and lemonade.

The Sunset Club is perched on the expansive Tappen beachfront overlooking Hempstead Harbor and, just beyond, Long Island Sound, and it offers diners a slice of sunny happiness. Guests use a QR code to order tableside via an online system that goes directly to the kitchen.

Guests who visit these locations can enjoy live music while sipping cocktails. Captree Boat Basin's concession and the restaurant area are open through the first weekend in November.

Visitors can take on the challenge of the park's 14 trails, which vary in difficulty and include 49 zip lines.

The outdoor section features a paved go-cart track with 40 karts, some for children, some for adults, and some doubles to be shared. There are two sand volleyball courts with the ability to have up to eight players for special events. The outdoor experience also includes pickleball courts for free.
