Seasonal nonstop route changes from MacArthur Airport for fall travel

Frontier Airlines is scaling back its schedule at Long Island MacArthur Airport (ISP) in Ronkonkoma heading into fall and winter. The carrier served five destinations from ISP in February: Fort Myers, Palm Beach, Myrtle Beach, Tampa and Orlando. By December, only Orlando will remain. Myrtle Beach service ends Sept. 8 and Tampa service ends Oct. 5, while Fort Myers and Palm Beach are no longer listed.

"Airline schedules are determined by the individual carriers and can change based on seasonality and broader network decisions," MacArthur airport commissioner Rob Schneider said in an emailed statement. "We have reached out to Frontier regarding its future schedule at ISP and are awaiting additional information."

Frontier told Newsday the changes are seasonal and do not signal an exit from ISP. 

"Some of our routes at ISP have planned seasonal pauses, but we have no plans to exit the airport," Rob Harris, corporate communications manager, said in an emailed statement Monday. "Our current network-wide schedule is released through early January 2027, which is why no dates beyond that are currently available. We expect to release our next schedule extension soon."

Frontier isn't the only one offering flights to these destinations, and they are still accessible by carriers like JetBlue, Breeze and Southwest. MacArthur's fall and winter schedule includes 16 nonstop destinations across six airlines. Here's where Long Islanders can fly and who's operating each route.

Florida
