Fast casual Mexican chain Bang Bang Burritos signs lease on new location in Oceanside

Bang Bang Burritos, a fast-casual Mexican chain restaurant, has signed a lease on at least one new Long Island location, according to a real estate agent who facilitated the transaction in Oceanside.

Mike Lightcap, of Douglas Elliman Commercial, said Bang Bang Burritos signed a 10-year lease on a Long Beach Road space that is approximately 1,500 square feet. The space was previously occupied by a smoothie company and, with a half-kitchen, generated interest from other food-related businesses, he said.

"A lot of the foundation was there," Lightcap said of the 2904 Long Beach Rd. location. "The freezers, and the walk-in box, and just how the counter was set up already for a smoothie shop."

The Bang Bang Burritos menu includes standards like burritos, tacos, nachos, quesadillas and empanadas.

In the Mexican fast-casual space, Bang Bang Burritos stands alongside larger chains like Chipotle Mexican Grill, Taco Bell and Qdoba. 

Last year, Qdoba was growing both locally and nationally. By the close of 2025, the chain had 827 stores across the United States, Newsday reported based on data from Chicago-based restaurant industry analysis firm Technomic. The franchise's sales growth in 2025 "outpaced the broader fast casual segment," Kevin Schimpf, Technomic's senior director of industry research, told Newsday in a statement.

Technomic does not have specific information about Bang Bang Burritos because of its size, said Rich Shank, senior principal and vice president of Innovation for Technomic, in an email.

"I can say generally, that it would make sense to expand in this category given Fast Casual Mexican is one of the few cuisine types growing in today’s market," Shank wrote. "Several brands are emerging to compete with Chipotle’s model, many from the local independent/small chain space."

The Bang Bang Burritos model "combines the Chipotle-style customization with suggested burrito, taco and quesadilla builds," Shank noted.

The chain has three locations, in West Islip, Bay Shore and Manhasset.

Bang Bang Burritos owner Frank Carbone did not respond to a request for comment.

In Oceanside, the corner spot on Long Beach road was appealing for its visibility and high traffic, Lightcap said.

"We had a lot of interest in it," he said. "Within the first like two weeks, we probably had 15 appointments over there and by the second week it was leased."

Long Island Business News has reported the chain is also opening new locations in Wantagh and Melville.

Bang Bang Burritos website says it is hiring for a Wantagh restaurant.

A Town of Hempstead permit search shows at least one open building permit for interior alterations to an existing space at 1906-1928 Wantagh Ave. The filing names Bang Bang Burrito and specifies a 12-seat maximum.

Town of Huntington spokeswoman Christine Geed said the municipality had no open permits for new tenants in Melville. 

Parties involved in these transactions did not respond to requests for comment.
