The Cheesecake Factory, known for its large dining areas and extensive menu, will open at the Green Acres Mall in December, according to the restaurant.
The restaurant, which will occupy an 8,000-square-foot space on the first floor of a two-story former Kohl’s store, is set to open on Dec. 15, the restaurant chain announced on its website.
The restaurant is accepting job applications for nearly a dozen types of roles, including a restaurant manager, line cooks, servers, bartenders and dishwashers, according to the company’s online job board.
The Cheesecake Factory is looking to hire more than 285 workers for the new location, Alethea Rowe, senior director of public relations and global branding for The Cheesecake Factory Inc., said in an email.
Starting salaries range from $17 an hour for positions like bussers, to up to $26 an hour for line cooks.
Long Island is home to four Cheesecake Factory locations, all of them at malls, according to the company’s website. They include the Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove, South Shore Mall in Bay Shore, Walt Whitman Shops in Huntington, and Samanea New York, formerly known as The Mall at the Source, in Westbury.
Consumers spent $2.7 billion at The Cheesecake Factory locations in 2025, making the chain of more than 200 locations the 37th largest restaurant chain overall in the United States by sales volume, Kevin Schimpf, senior director of industry research at Technomic, a Chicago-based restaurant industry research firm, said in an email.
"The average Cheesecake Factory location generates roughly $12.5 million in sales annually," Schimpf said, adding that sales for the chain grew by more than 1% last year and up more than 4% during the first half of 2026.
The company reported $2.68 billion in revenue last year from its Cheesecake Factory restaurant locations. The chain's parent company, The Cheesecake Factory Inc., also owns North Italia and Flower Child restaurant chains.
The new restaurant is part of a larger redevelopment of the Green Acres Mall that is estimated to cost $130 million to $150 million, The Macerich Co., the California-based real estate investment trust that owns the mall, said last year.
