Danish clothing retailer Jack & Jones opening Long Island store, at Tanger Deer Park

Danish clothing retailer Jack & Jones' U.S. expansion will include a store at Tanger Outlets Deer Park.

The store, which will occupy a 6,950-square-foot space, will open in November, the shopping center said in a statement Tuesday.

Tanger Outlets Deer Park is located at 152 The Arches Circle.

Founded as a men’s denim brand in 1990, Jack & Jones also sells slacks, T-shirts and other casual wear. The Deer Park store will include clothing under Jack & Jones’ womenswear counterpart, JJXX, according to Tanger.

Jack & Jones did not immediately respond to a request for comment, so it is unclear if the retailer plans to open other Long Island stores or how many people will work at the Deer Park location.

The retailer's Deer Park store will open in a space that was vacated by a Skechers shoe store, which relocated to a larger space in the shopping center, Tanger said.

Jack & Jones sells merchandise online and at its more than 1,000 stores in 38 countries, according to its website. Last year, the retailer opened its first stores in the United States, where it now has six East Coast locations. Its only store in New York is on Staten Island. 

Jack & Jones is one of the more than 20 clothing and accessories brands owned by Bestseller, a Denmark-based company founded by the Holch Povlsen family in 1975.
