Bethenny Frankel's Supermodel Café in East Quogue closing

The cameras will flash one last time as Long Island’s supermodel era comes to an end. East Quogue’s Supermodel Café by Bethenny Frankel will close on Labor Day.

The announcement was made on Instagram Friday afternoon.

“What started as a crazy idea became a real-life focus group with bagels, caviar and a line out the door,” the post reads. “We came here to test, listen and learn … the café may be closing, but the Supermodel lifestyle is here to stay.”

The menu for the café at 481 Montauk Hwy. include bagels in flavors like plain, sea salt, everything and cherry vanilla. Spreads and dips include cacio e pepe, spicy sriracha and sweet cream. They even announced a new bagel to try before the closing called the Bryn Berry Bagel ($10), which is a blueberry bagel with lemon and sweet cream spread. There are six signature lattes, including pistachio coconut cream, honey cinnamon vanilla, banana cream and strawberry matcha.

"It’s perfect," Frankel told Newsday at the Aug. 13 opening. "We don't even call it a pop-up anymore, only because it doesn't feel like one. It’s like the Billy Joel of bagels, we’re going to stay until no one wants to come anymore."

The CEO of the Skinnygirl low-calorie cocktail brand recently garnered millions of views on her Instagram for hosting the "Chicken Salad Olympics," urging Long Island delis and bagel stores to send her their deli salad for a taste test. The buzz backed the launch of her own pop-up business serving her version of the dish, which she judges by categories of "chicken," "crunch," "base" and "topping." The name of the cafe is a play on another one of her popular Instagram video series, in which she taste-tests "supermodel snacks," or simple-to-make, low-cal dishes.

The café from The Real Housewives of New York City alumna, opened to much excitement in August. Hundreds of fans lined up early outside the Main Street eatery Thursday morning, some traveling from Nassau County. 

Hours later, the café was issued a stop-work order by the Town of Southampton, stating that the operator had failed to comply with the provisions of New York State Building Code and with the provisions of Southampton Town Zoning Ordinance chapter 330, and that a dangerous and unsafe condition exists.

Frankel's representative stated: "The team is working cooperatively with local officials and taking the appropriate steps to address those concerns. The notice does not require the café to close, and there is no anticipated disruption to business. The cafe will operate during its regular daily hours of 8 a.m. to 3 p.m." The business remained open.
