Chip City in North Babylon debuts bagel and sweet cream cheese

Long Island bagel lovers, Chip City has a mashup for you: The North Babylon cookie shop has launched bagel and cream cheese pairings in the mornings, a concept that will soon expand to other regional stores.
Better known for its warm, oversized, gooey-on-the-inside, crispy-on-the-outside cookies made in whimsical, irresistible flavors, Chip City is dipping a toe into the bagel market with a short menu of sweet cream cheese offerings that play on traditional cookie flavors. The menu addition is similar to the PopUp Bagels concept that took Roslyn by storm when it opened last year, matching bagels with savory cream cheeses.
Bagels, which run $2 a piece, come in four varieties: Blueberry, chocolate chip, plain and everything. Cream cheese servings, which "cover up to two to four bagels, depending on schmear size" according to Chip City employees in the North Babylon store, come in five flavors: plain, chocolate chip, Italian rainbow cookie, cookies and cream, and triple chocolate. The 8-ounce servings are $7.
Bagels will be sold from 8 to 11 a.m. — or until they sell out — when the shop switches over to its cookie lineup. "Bagels with cookie cream cheese lets us expand beyond dessert while giving fans another reason to start their day with Chip City," co-founder Peter Phillips said in a statement. "They’re a New York staple, just like our cookies."
Childhood friends Theodore Gailas and Phillips opened the first Long Island Chip City branch in 2022 at the Brooke Plaza shopping center in Oceanside. The brand's other locations include East Northport, Garden City, Huntington, Merrick and Woodbury in addition to North Babylon.
