BACKGROUND
- Macco, 39, of Huntington, a registered Democrat, is running on the Democratic Party line in the general election. He is an attorney in his namesake bankruptcy practice based in Islandia.
- He is a vice chair of the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce, den leader for Pack 310 Cub Scouts and committee chair for the Southdown Primary PTA of the Huntington school district. He has previously served as chair of the bankruptcy & insolvency committee of the Suffolk County Bar Association, co-chair of the Young Professionals Committee of the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce and as president of the Huntington Lawyer's Club.
- Macco is a graduate of Cold Spring Harbor High School. He graduated from Long Island University in 2008 and St. John’s University School of Law in 2012.
ISSUES
- Bringing transparency and accountability back to the Town of Huntington by focusing on residents rather than political agendas.
- He said that to address issues such as the rising cost of housing, he would focus on creative solutions such as readapting buildings. He would also like to promote local small businesses and focus on the preservation of environmental infrastructure such as parks, beaches and waterways.
- He said he would focus on bringing new revenue sources into the budget to reduce the financial impact on residents.
