Lynch, 60, of Stewart Manor, is a registered Democrat. He is running on the Democratic Party line in the general election. He is a psychiatrist at a public mental health clinic in Hempstead.
Lynch has served as a Village of Stewart Manor trustee and as a founding member of Garden City Friends of STEM, which, among other things, raises money for robotics programs in Garden City schools.
He has also coached youth sports in baseball, soccer, track and volleyball.

Lynch said he opposes a casino at the Nassau Coliseum site. Instead, he would like to see a new Nassau University Medical Center built at Mitchell Field in cooperation with Northwell, NYU Langone and Hofstra University.
He said he supports the expansion of NICE bus service.
Lynch said he wants to see the county’s infrastructure improved and its finances improved so that it is no longer under oversight by the Nassau County Interim Finance Authority.
