BACKGROUND
- Lynch, 60, of Stewart Manor, is a registered Democrat. He is running on the Democratic Party line in the general election. He is a psychiatrist at a public mental health clinic in Hempstead.
- Lynch has served as a Village of Stewart Manor trustee and as a founding member of Garden City Friends of STEM, which, among other things, raises money for robotics programs in Garden City schools.
- He has also coached youth sports in baseball, soccer, track and volleyball.
ISSUES
- Lynch said he opposes a casino at the Nassau Coliseum site. Instead, he would like to see a new Nassau University Medical Center built at Mitchell Field in cooperation with Northwell, NYU Langone and Hofstra University.
- He said he supports the expansion of NICE bus service.
- Lynch said he wants to see the county’s infrastructure improved and its finances improved so that it is no longer under oversight by the Nassau County Interim Finance Authority.
