BACKGROUND

  • Saladino, 64, is a registered Republican and is running on the Conservative and Republican party lines in the general election. 
  • He is seeking a fifth term as Oyster Bay Town supervisor. He was first appointed to the position in 2017 while serving as a state assemblyman and was elected later that year.
  • He is a graduate of the New York Institute of Technology.

ISSUES

  • Saladino said he doesn’t agree with New York State’s approach to high-density development and said local stakeholders should be involved more closely in the creation of new housing. 
  • He said he will continue to push for the complete cleanup of Bethpage Community Park, the former dumping ground of Grumman Aerospace. 
  • He said his priorities include advancing initiatives that restore the shellfish population in local harbors, including through the creation of a shellfish hatchery.
