BACKGROUND
- Sochet, 65, of Syosset, is a registered Democrat and is running on the Democratic Party line in the general election. He has been vice president of the Syosset Public Library board of trustees since 2020.
- He was named New York City principal of the year in 2019 while working at Martin Van Buren High School in Queens.
