McArdle, 53, of Williston Park, is a registered Republican running on the Democratic Party line in the general election.
She is an educator and a community advocate with over 25 years of experience.
McArdle holds a bachelors and masters from Long Island University and is finishing her doctorate at St. John's University.

McArdle said affordability is her top priority. She said she will fight to keep property taxes under control, create targeted exemptions for seniors and new homeowners, and advocate for policies that help young adults and seniors remain in North Hempstead.
She emphasized supporting small businesses by cutting red tape, improving infrastructure and ensuring that local entrepreneurs have the resources they need to thrive.
McArdle said she is committed to community safety and quality of life by addressing infrastructure repairs, expanding mental health resources, and ensuring responsive, transparent government that works for residents.
