BACKGROUND

  • Panzenbeck, 72, is a registered Republican and is running on the Republican and Conservative party lines in the general election. She is seeking a third term as mayor and previously served three terms on the city council.
  • She was a Levittown Public Schools business and computer education teacher for 34 years.
  • Panzenbeck is a 1971 graduate of Glen Cove High School and graduated from the New York Institute of Technology in Old Westbury.

ISSUES

  • Panzenbeck said she is proud to be “a lifetime Glen Cover with a long record of service and volunteerism in my community.”
  • She said she is proud that her administration’s financial accomplishments include achieving a surplus after many years. She said that under her administration the city has earned Moody’s upgrades that have given Glen Cove its “highest credit rating in 20 years and two consecutive years of a No Fiscal Stress designation.” 
  • Panzenbeck said her administration has made major infrastructure improvements and refurbished all city parks and recreation areas, “with more to come.”
