BACKGROUND

• Mullaney, 50, of Long Beach, is a registered Republican and is running on the Republican and Conservative party lines in the general election. He is seeking reelection.

• He has been a Marine Corps reservist.

• Mullaney is a member of the FDNY, where he serves as part of the Special Operations Command in Squad 288 based in Maspeth, Queens, which responds to complex and dangerous emergencies, such as building collapses and subway rescues.

ISSUES

• Mullaney said he voted to freeze property taxes each year he has been in the legislature.
• He supports first responders and keeping communities safe by adding police officers, expanding police patrols and providing critical resources to first responders, including a dedicated ambulance for them.
