BACKGROUND

  • Sanin, 47, of Huntington Station, is a registered Democrat and is running on the Democratic and Working Families party lines in the general election. She joined the legislature in 2024. She was previously president and CEO of the Health and Welfare Council of Long Island.
  • She led the regional Census 2020 effort to secure Long Island’s fair share of funding for the next decade and directed a major nonprofit through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Sanin chaired the Suffolk County Task Force to Prevent Family Violence.

ISSUES

  • Sanin said she is focused on keeping communities safe from violence, reducing dangerous driving and protecting children from vaping and drugs.
  • She said she is committed to easing the high cost of living that burdens seniors, veterans, families and children, as well as cutting government fees.
  • Sanin said she is also dedicated to protecting Suffolk County’s drinking water, preserving natural resources and preparing for future storms.
