BACKGROUND

  • Koslow, 43, of Merrick, is a registered Democrat. He is running on the Democratic Party line in the general election.
  • He was born and raised in Baldwin, and was elected to the county legislature in 2023. Koslow is a practicing criminal defense attorney and was an assistant district attorney in Queens from 2013 to 2016. 
  • He has a bachelor’s degree from American University and a law degree from Touro Law Center in Central Islip.

ISSUES

  • Koslow said he will disband Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman’s armed citizen deputy program, which he said “undermined” local law enforcement.
  • He said he would audit the county’s finances to cut spending on agencies that are inefficient and on dilapidated county property.
  • Koslow said he would invest in solutions for wastewater treatment, beach erosion and flooding using money the legislature has approved for bonding.
