The Mets, in an effort to say “thank you” to their fans who are suffering through a tough season, are putting some money where their mouths are.

Fans who buy a ticket -- or who already have bought a ticket -- to any of the 32 remaining home games beginning with Friday night’s game against the Dodgers will get a $10 electronic voucher per ticket that can be used toward a purchase of eligible food, beverages and merchandise.

The Mets call it the "Amazin' Fan Reward."

“Creating a great experience for our fans is central to everything we do at Citi Field,” Lew Sherr, the Mets’ president of business operations, told Newsday in a statement. “The Amazin' Fan Reward is designed to demonstrate gratitude to our supporters and provide fans with something extra on gameday. We appreciate the passion, loyalty and energy Mets fans bring to Citi Field, and hope this reward is one more way to say thank you.”

Mets’ attendance was down 8% in the season’s first half as compared with the same period in 2025. The Mets were expected to be World Series contenders this season. Instead they are in last place in the NL East and have a 21-28 home record. So the club is hoping a small gesture will help fans deal with the disappointment and perhaps spur some ticket and concessions sales in the second half.

The $10 reward will be automatically loaded on a fan’s gameday ticket barcode. It is good for day-of-game purchases only and will expire at the end of the game. It can be scanned at food and retail concession stands at Citi Field. It can be used by age-appropriate fans toward the purchase of alcoholic beverages, according to a team spokesman.

The Mets averaged 35,659 fans per game in the first half. If that average holds in the second half and every ticket buyer uses the $10 reward, that would be a giveaway potentially worth $356,590 per game, or $11.4 million for the rest of the home schedule.
