OG Anunoby was diagnosed with a right hamstring strain and is questionable for Friday night’s Game 3 of their Eastern Conference semifinals series in Philadelphia.
Anunoby suffered the injury late in the fourth quarter of Wednesday’s 108-102 Knicks victory, giving them a two games to none lead in the best-of-seven series. He remained on the floor for a moment after beginning to limp, then asked out and departed with 2:31 remaining in the game.
He has been one of the Knicks' most vital players through the first two rounds of the playoffs, averaging 21.4 points per game, second on the team behind Jalen Brunson. Providing a compliment to Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns, he has shot an efficient 61.9% overall and 53.8% from three-point range in eight games. He had 24 points before departing the game Wednesday.
Defensively, he is the Knicks' best player and one of their most versatile.
Miles McBride has often gotten the start when Anunoby or Josh Hart have sat, but the Knicks could also turn to Mitchell Robinson joining Towns in a two-bigs lineup.
