Mike Brown says the Knicks have not yet decided on visiting the White House
The Knicks have not determined if they will be the first NBA champion to visit the White House under President Donald Trump.
After the Knicks won the title for the first time in 53 years in June, Madison Square Garden chairman James Dolan said on WFAN that the Knicks had already received an invitation to the White House and had accepted.
Mike Brown was asked during the first day of training camp on Tuesday whether a decision had been made to visit the White House.
"No, that’s still something that our guys, the organization, is internally discussing,” the Knicks' head coach said. “Whatever we decide to do we’ll all do together.”
Jalen Brunson said earlier in the offseason in an interview with Variety that a decision had not been reached.
The Knicks' first game in Washington, D.C., this season is scheduled for Dec. 18 against the Wizards. The Knicks return to the nation's capital for a game on March 16.
Trump attended Game 3 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden, sitting in a suite alongside Dolan.
The White House did not immediately return a request for comment on Tuesday.
