PSAL football Gridiron Greats from Week 1

Aaron Benjamin, John Jay: He had 12 tackles, including three for loss and a sack, in a 33-8 win over Midwood.
Ian Bennett, Wagner: He hauled in four receptions for 173 yards and two touchdowns, including the go-ahead score in a 27-20 win over New Dorp.
Mikey Bennett, Erasmus Hall: The sophomore quarterback completed 11 of 11 passes for 198 yards and three touchdowns in a 43-6 win over Kennedy.
Chariel Castillo, Frederick Douglass Academy: He had two catches for 110 yards and a pair of scores in a 26-0 win over Grady. He added a 65-yard kickoff return.
Fynn Chadwick, Stuyvesant: Chadwick totaled five touchdowns in a 44-7 win over Bayside. He threw for 181 yards and two scores and added 50 rushing yards and three more touchdowns.
Brandon Colon, Lehman: He had 15 carries for 199 yards and added an 83-yard kickoff return to total 282 all-purpose yards in a 20-13 victory over Cardozo, Lehman's first league win since 2024.
Caleb Fisher, Brooklyn Tech: He caught a 75-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter in a 20-0 win over DeWitt Clinton. Fisher totaled 103 receiving yards and added three tackles.
Hang Yu Li, New Utrecht: He had 10 tackles and two forced fumbles in a 35-28 double-overtime upset win over Sheepshead Bay. He also had 53 rushing yards and a touchdown.
Lorenzo Lopez, William C. Bryant: On 12 touches, he had 194 yards and one touchdown in a 24-8 win over Far Rockaway.
Wyatt Mulvena, Brooklyn Tech: He had 12 tackles, including three for loss and a sack, in a 20-0 win over Clinton. The defense allowed only 48 yards of offense.
Saraji Paige, East Harlem Pride: He rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns on five carries in a 26-0 win over Grand Street Campus. He also had two receptions for 38 yards and a touchdown.
