Erlin Rosales scored on a penalty kick with 13 minutes left to lead Floyd to a 1-0 win over Central Islip in a Suffolk I boys soccer opener on Tuesday. Brandon Quijada and Matt Sfoglia each had three saves. Mark Rodriguez made five saves for Central Islip.
Sachem North 1, Sachem East 0: Justin Arango scored off a pass from Richard Leguizamon in the 68th minute for Sachem North in a Suffolk I opener. Dylan Barker recorded six saves for the clean sheet. Kevin Weeks made seven saves for Sachem East.
Northport 2, Bellport 2: Ryan Cogan scored the tying goal off a cross from Ty Hamada with four minutes left for Northport in a Suffolk III opening tie. Kevin Sorrentino scored two goals for Bellport.
Smithtown East 3, Harborfields 1: Sean Wallace scored two goals and Anthony Distasi had two assists to lead Smithtown East in a non-league opener. Liam Bayne scored a goal for Harborfields.
Kellenberg 2, Mepham 0: Declan Healy and Micah Joseph each scored a goal to lead Kellenberg in a non-league opener. Finian Murray had two saves for the shutout. Frank Giovanniello made five saves for Mepham.
GIRLS SOCCER
Smithtown West 2, Longwood 1: Gabrielle Arguelles scored the go-ahead goal off an assist from Lily Molloy late in the second half to lead Smithtown West in a non-league opener. Kate Tenety scored the tying goal off an assist from Lanie Ryder earlier in the half. Brooke Pfeiffer scored a goal and Liana Collazo made eight saves for Longwood.
Babylon 2, West Babylon 0: Payton Bottjer and Julia Wider each scored a goal to lead Babylon in a non-league opener. Charlotte Hoisik made four saves for West Babylon.
Bellmore JFK 1, Division 0: Kayleigh Herlihy scored the lone goal in the second half to lead Bellmore JFK in a Nassau II opener. Samantha Lapidus made six saves. Samantha Castora made 12 saves for Division.
MacArthur 1, Calhoun 0: Gina Iannuzzi scored the game's only goal off an assist from Alexa Coppola in the 37th minute and Lyla Curtin made six saves to lead MacArthur in a Nassau I opener. Abigail DaSilva made three saves for Calhoun.
Cold Spring Harbor 3, Carle Place 1: Alexandra Rossen scored two goals for Cold Spring Harbor a Nassau AB-II opener. Brooke Giblin added a goal. Daniella Correia scored a goal for Carle Place.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL
Eastport-South Manor 3, Shoreham-Wading River 0: CJ Spatz had 11 kills and Memphis Lanier had 28 assists to lead Eastport-South Manor to a 25-9, 25-21, 25-8 win in a Suffolk II opener.
Sachem North 3, Huntington 0: Bryan Kuhl totaled 20 assists, five aces and two kills to lead Sachem North to a 25-9, 25-16, 25-8 win in a Suffolk I opener. Teagan Savas had 11 kills and an ace. Sal Echel added nine aces and eight kills and Ben Morreale added eight digs and two aces.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Mepham 3, Oceanside 2: Ella Ercoli had 10 kills and eight blocks to lead Mepham to a 13-25, 22-25, 25-16, 25-16, 15-13 win in a non-league opener. Emma Giwner had 11 kills and Kat Achan had 10 assists and four aces. Grace Seifert had 12 assists and Kate Seifert had 15 digs.
