Alexa Cergol scored two goals, including the go-ahead goal on a penalty kick with eight minutes remaining, to keep Mount Sinai’s girls soccer team undefeated in its 2-1 win over Bayport-Blue Point Tuesday in Suffolk’s League III.

Charlotte Laraque made 12 saves for the Mustangs (8-0). Olivia Brady scored a goal to tie the score in the second half for Bayport-Blue Point (7-2).

Carey 1, Calhoun 0: Juliana Tonkin scored a goal for Carey (10-3-2) in Nassau AAA/AA-I. Daisy Buja had an assist.

BOYS SOCCER

Carle Place 9, Wheatley 1: Cristiano Costa scored four goals, extending his Long Island-leading total to 17, for Carle Place (11-0) in Nassau B. Justin Escobar, Gavin Lima, Anthony Maffettone, Lucas Ferreira and Rocco D’Arpino each scored a goal.

West Islip 1, Smithtown West 0: Nilson Nunez headed in a cross from Preston Nutter with 7:45 remaining in the first half to lead West Islip (4-4) to a Suffolk IV win. Michael Tumminello kept a clean sheet with four saves. Thomas Maloney saved three shots for Smithtown West (6-2-1).

Port Jefferson 2, Greenport 1: Jaytee Driscoll-Stremich scored the winning goal in overtime from outside the 18-yard box to lift Port Jefferson (5-6) to a Suffolk VI win. Marco Baranta assisted Leonardo Panasci’s tying goal in the second half. Juan Vivas Flores scored off a free kick for Greenport (2-7-1).

Half Hollow Hills West 1, West Babylon 0: Elijah Prywes scored on a 25-yard free kick in the 25th minute to lead Half Hollow Hills West (4-5) in Suffolk IV. Maddox Lean made three saves. Jake Whelan made eight saves for West Babylon (5-3-1).

Babylon 2, Riverhead Charter 0: Edwin Orellana and Danny Murphy scored for Babylon (5-4) in Suffolk VI. Samuel Akinola had nine saves for Riverhead Charter (4-6).

Mattituck 3, Southold 2: Andy Mancia assisted Jose Chapeton’s winning goal in overtime for Mattituck (6-2-1) in Suffolk VI. Mancia added a goal. Goalkeeper Cris Cuellar made three saves and scored on a free kick inside the final two minutes to force overtime. Brandon Moran scored twice for Southold (2-5-1). Grady Brigham made 12 saves.

FIELD HOCKEY

Miller Place 1, Comsewogue 0: Kelsey Hoffman scored for Miller Place (8-0) off an assist from Olivia LaMorte in Suffolk I. Keira Walling made seven saves for Comsewogue (6-3).

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Sachem North 3, Ward Melville 2: Bryan Kuhl racked up 51 assists, four aces, five digs and three blocks to lead Sachem North (10-0) past Ward Melville (7-1) in five sets, 27-25, 19-25, 19-25, 25-21, 15-11, in Suffolk I. Teagan Savas added 41 kills, two aces, six digs and two blocks. Ben Morreale had 22 digs. Sal Echel added 12 kills.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Mepham 3, Seaford 1: Ella Ercoli had 15 kills, eight blocks and four aces to lead Mepham (7-1), 22-25, 25-9, 25-21, 25-16 in non-league. Grace Seifert had 16 assists, seven digs and three aces and Sofia Gallitto added 13 assists. Viana Fiskaa tallied six kills and Gia Kayantas contributed 10 digs. Seaford is 2-3.

BOYS GOLF

Sachem 9, Longwood 0: Lee Kaiser Jr. fired a 4-under-par 32 on the front nine of the Spring Lake Golf Course to lead Sachem (6-0) past Longwood (0-3) in Suffolk I. Cole Rosensweig and Ryan Lamm each shot a 3-under 33, Jake Santulli added a 2-under 34 and Chris Mordente finished at even par with a 36. Harrison McManus registered a 41 to give the team an aggregate score of 168 strokes, which was a collective 12-under par.
