The NBA announced that the Knicks will host Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at Madison Square Garden if their opponent is the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Cavaliers lead the Detroit Pistons in their semifinal series, 3-2, with Game 6 on Friday night at 7 p.m.

Cleveland is the fourth seed in the East and would start the Eastern Conference Finals at the Garden since the Knicks are the No. 3 seed.

If the top-seeded Pistons win the series against the Cavs (Game 7 would be Sunday if the Pistons win tonight), Detroit will host Game 1 against the Knicks. The NBA did not announce a date or start time for Game 1 of a Knicks-Pistons series.

In the Western Conference semifinal series, if the Spurs and Timberwolves go to a Game 7, that game would be played on Sunday at 7:30 p.m., thus keeping the Knicks locked in at 3:30 p.m. for a potential Game 1 vs. Cleveland.
