Newsday's annual look at the top 100 Long Island high school girls lacrosse players, listed in alphabetical order, as the 2026 season gets underway. All stats listed are from last season unless otherwise noted.

Cadence Adamo, Rocky Point, A, Jr.

A shifty dodger and elite feeder, Adamo is a relentless worker all over the field. In transition, the South Florida commit consistently creates scoring opportunities for herself and teammates. She led Rocky Point with 38 goals and 32 assists.

Carly Amato, East Islip, M, Sr.

Amato is an explosive midfielder and aggressive between the 30s. The UMass commit is returning in a leading role and tallied 28 goals, 11 assists and 23 draw controls.

Savanna Appleton, Massapequa, A, Sr.

Appleton will be the engine of Massapequa’s offense after notching 36 goals and 29 assists.  The Clemson commit is a relentless lefty attacker who can score, ride and dish the ball efficiently. She leads with confidence and sets the tone through both her work ethic and on-field communication.

Lila Archer, North Shore, M, Jr.

Archer is a skilled and composed player who plays with great vision and control. She has strong stick skills and the ability to create opportunities for teammates while staying poised under pressure. She tallied 42 draw controls, 35 goals and 18 ground balls.

Sabrina Asadurian, Wantagh, M, Sr.

An efficient scorer, Asadurian had a team-high 52 goals. The Stony Brook commit also recorded seven assists. She hopes to lead Wantagh back to the Nassau Class C title game.

Kate Atkinson, Northport, A/M, Sr.

Atkinson led Northport with 82 points, scoring 56 goals and assisting on 26 others. The Vanderbilt commit will once again anchor the Tigers’ offense as they pursue a Suffolk Class A championship. She has surpassed 80 points in each of the past three seasons.

Regan Backer, Garden City, M, Sr.

Backer will be an impact player from all over the field for the Trojans. The Virginia commit tallied 11 goals and 12 assists and will return as the team’s lead draw taker.

Caitlin Barnes, Islip, A, Sr.

A Barnes is a do-it-all midfielder, she recorded 44 goals, 23 assists and 74 draw controls. In her sixth year on varsity, the Boston College commit will continue to lead Islip with speed and efficiency.

Maiya Boughal, Westhampton, M, Sr.

Boughal will be a major impact player for Westhampton in its return to Class B. The Dartmouth commit is a versatile midfielder who recorded 45 draw controls, 38 goals, five assists, 16 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers.

Olivia Brady, Bayport-Blue Point, M, Jr.

Brady had a breakout season, totaling 38 goals and 14 assists to help the Phantoms win a state championship. The Clemson commit has the ability to contribute all over the field on offense and defense.

Mia Brown, Westhampton, G, Jr.

It's Brown's turn between the pipes after Maya Farnan graduated. She is ranked as a top-five goalie in the nation. The Maryland commit tracks the ball well, has quick hands and is very athletic.

Kailey Bruckner, Bayport-Blue Point, M, Sr.

The Towson commit is an athletic two-way midfielder and a key piece in the Phantoms’ quest for a state title. Bruckner had 28 goals and eight assists.

Juliann Brzeski, Farmingdale, A, Jr.

Brzeski has a strong, elusive shot that made her Farmingdale’s leading scorer with 47 goals. A varsity starter since eighth grade, the Stony Brook commit leads the Dalers’ offense and occupies her opponents best defenders.

Sophia Buffardi, Sayville, M, Sr.

Buffardi is a dominant midfielder who can change the game from the draw circle to either side of the ball. The North Carolina commit is the No. 4-ranked recruit in the nation and tallied 41 goals, 18 assists and 89 draw controls.

Krista Burke, Wheatley, D/M, Jr.

The Elon commit is a reliable and versatile defender with excellent speed. She scored 29 goals. 

Natalie Byrnes, Massapequa, M, Jr.

Byrnes is a terrific catch-and-shoot threat. The Binghamton commit is effective picking up ground balls and had 27 goals and four assists.

Ruby Cacioppo, Manhasset, G, Sr.

A five-year varsity athlete, Cacioppo is quick, agile and can make plays both in and out of the cage. A Stanford commit, her outlets start the engine of Manhasset’s offense. She tallied 111 saves.

Gianna Calise, Mattituck, M, Sr.

A prolific scorer, she is a downhill dodger with great stick skills who can put the ball wherever she pleases. The James Madison commit recorded 45 goals, 21 assists, 45 ground balls and 55 draw controls.

Megan Caputo, Farmingdale, G, Jr.

Caputo is a reliable anchor for the Dalers’ defense, recording 157 saves. The UMass commit is quick, agile, vocal and a leader in and out of the crease. Farmingdale can depend on Caputo to make big plays when it matters most.

Shannon Carney, Bayport-Blue Point, D, Sr.

Carney has an active stick and is able to knock down and intercept passes. The Binghamton commit will anchor the Bayport-Blue Point defense.

Maggie Cassidy, Port Washington, M, Sr.

Cassidy is a hardworking midfielder who rarely steps off the field. The Arizona State commit tallied 29 goals and 11 assists, but what stands out more is her unselfish style of play and commitment to her teammates.

Marianna Chimienti, Long Beach, A, Jr.

An excellent off-ball attacker, the Rhode Island commit had 49 goals and nine assists and is capable of making big plays in the ride.

Anna Christie, St. Anthony’s, M, Sr.

Christie is one of the most impactful players on Long Island. She tallied 30 goals and 15 assists  and brings relentless intensity and precision on offense. The Notre Dame commit uses her athleticism to create opportunities and push the tempo, with the ability to deliver in key moments.

Abby Clarkson, MacArthur, G, Sr.

Clarkson is a strong goalie who is equally as good out of the cage as she is in the crease. She had 148 saves last season and 151 as a sophomore. The Youngstown State commit is a leader on the field and skilled at clearing the ball.

Kimberly Colucci, Garden City, A, Sr.

Colucci had a breakout season with 43 goals and 15 assists on the Trojans’ road to a state semifinal. The William & Mary commit is an elite scoring threat.

Sophie Deifel, Lynbrook, M, Sr.

Deifel wins the ball, pushes the pace and turns broken plays into high-quality chances. When the moment gets big, she wants the matchup and makes the play. The Binghamton commit recorded 37 goals, nine assists and 63 draw controls.

Grayson Denihan, Manhasset, M, Sr.

Much of what Denihan does in a game does not appear on a score sheet, but neither do the attackers she is responsible to cover. The Boston College commit is a two-way midfielder who does everything at full speed. She recorded 15 goals and 10 assists.

Ava Derby, Westhampton, M, Sr.

Derby returns as the Hurricanes’ all-around engine. The Maryland commit recorded 44 draw controls, 31 goals, 19 assists, 32 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers on Westhampton’s road to the county semifinals.

Olivia DeSimone, Sayville, M, Sr.

DeSimone is a high-IQ defensive midfielder who anchors the defense and shows up big in the offensive end under high-pressure situations. The Florida State commit recorded 18 goals, 32 assists and 16 caused turnovers.

Abigail Dieumegard, Islip, G, Sr.

The Virginia Tech commit is one of the strongest goalkeepers on Long Island, tallying 137 saves.. She anchors Islip’s defense with leadership and communication.

Emma DiMaio, Floyd, A, Sr.

DiMaio had 38 goals and 42 assists and has great field vision and understanding of the game. The six-year varsity athlete and Stony Brook commit was a major contributor on the offense and helped lead Floyd to three consecutive county semifinals.

Madeline Drago, Wantagh, A, Sr.

Drago is a shifty attacker who can score and create opportunities for others. The UMBC commit had 15 goals and seven assists.

Morgan Farrell, Sayville, M, Sr.

Farrell is a well-balanced two-way midfielder. Her quickness and high IQ make it  difficult for other teams to deal with. The Johns Hopkins commit had 28 goals and 18 assists on Sayville’s road to the Suffolk semifinal.

Isabella Fiorelli, Whitman, A, Jr.

Fiorelli led Suffolk in goals last season with 67 and added 13 assists. The Florida State commit is a versatile midfielder, contributing with tenacity on both sides of the ball. She also led Whitman in ground balls, caused turnovers and draw controls.

Riley Fleming, Smithtown East, M, Jr.

Fleming is a two-way midfielder who has a dominant defensive presence. The Marist commit is a key member of the defensive unit who marks the opposing team's highest threat, often limiting them significantly. She is aggressive on the draw and a well-rounded athlete.

Sarah Franke, Commack, D/M, Jr.

Franke can impact the game on defense or in the midfield. The UConn commit is fast, aggressive and strong in the clear. She is expected to take on a larger leadership role this season.

Lexi Giannone, South Side, D, Sr.

Giannone led South Side’s defense with 17 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers on the Cyclones’ road to their first Nassau Class C title. The Merrimack commit will be utilized to mark top scoring attackers.

Grace Gordon, Huntington, M, Sr.

Gordon is a strong dodger from up top and uses her vision to find open teammates. The Lafayette commit had 38 goals and 24 assists. 

Taylor Gordon, Manhasset, M, Sr.

Gordon is one of the strongest and smartest midfielders on Long Island. After suffering a season-ending injury as a sophomore, the Boston College commit recorded 19 goals and 10 assists. She will be instrumental on the draw circle.

Kelsey Gorman, St. Anthony’s, D, Sr.

Gorman is a reliable and impactful presence on the back line. The Siena commit is a returning starter who brings consistency, toughness and strong defensive awareness. She reads the game well, has great agility and anticipates plays, making timely defensive stops against top attackers.

Emma Jean Greenberg, Northport, D, Sr.

Greenberg has been a varsity starter since eighth grade. The Florida commit is ranked among the top defenders in the country and has elite on-ball defense. She possesses great footwork and is the anchor of the Tigers’ defensive unit.

Vienna Guzman, Comsewogue, A, Sr.

Guzman tallied 41 goals, nine assists and 47 draw controls, showcasing her versatility and all-around impact. The Bryant commit’s ability to score in high-pressure moments and create opportunities for teammates has been instrumental to Comsewogue’s success.

Quinlan Heilbron, Ward Melville, D, Jr.

Heilbron is one of the best defenders on Long Island. She shuts down the opponent’s best player and can be trusted to get the ball back. The Clemson commit averaged four caused turnovers and ground balls per game.

Madison Herr, Shoreham-Wading River, M, Jr.

Herr is a dynamic and impactful player who consistently elevates the level of play. The Boston College commit possesses exceptional field awareness, strong lacrosse IQ and the ability to make plays in critical moments. She recorded 38 goals, 23 assists, 21 ground balls, 54 draw controls and 10 caused turnovers.

Grace Hoffman, Massapequa, A, Sr.

Hoffman is a dynamic lefty with incredible vision. The Johns Hopkins commit had 21 goals and 41 assists. She constantly creates scoring opportunities for herself and teammates.

Gabbie Hudak, Friends Academy, G, Jr.

A varsity athlete since eighth grade, Hudak is consistently near the top of the conference in saves, save percentage and goals allowed. The Sacred Heart commit tallied 150 saves and 6.2 goals allowed with a 56.5% save percentage.

Page Kellershon, Mattituck, M, Sr.

Kellershon finished third in Suffolk for points last season with 89 (58 goals and 31 assists). An elite midfielder, she also tallied 68 ground balls and 80 draw controls. The Navy commit is one of the top players in the country, bringing a mix of speed, strength and IQ to the field.

Skylar Kilfeather, Long Beach, A, Sr.

Kilfeather is a well-balanced attacker who recorded a near-even ratio of 38 goals and 36 assists. The Florida State commit proved her versatility, picking up 16 ground balls and 12 draw controls for the Marines.

Marlo Knox, St. Dominic, M, Sr.

Knox had an incredible junior season, scoring 64 goals and adding 17 assists to lead St. Dominic to one of the best seasons in program history with an appearance in the CHSAA final against St. Anthony’s. The Florida State commit is a prolific scorer and excels in the draw circle.

Skye Korten, South Side, A, Jr.

Korten totaled 37 goals and 21 assists. The Albany commit will be the driving force behind South Side’s offense this season after the team's top two scorers graduated. 

Harper Lambert, Manhasset, M, Sr.

The Duke commit had a team-high 48 goals and is very crafty from anywhere in the attack zone while also strong on the defensive end. Lambert is a do-it-all midfielder who will also take the draw.

Eve Larkin, MacArthur, M, Sr.

Larkin is an outstanding two-way midfielder who led MacArthur with 31 goals and 15 assists. The Drexel commit will be a leader in transition. She is an efficient scorer who can also thread the needle to get the best look.

Aliya Leonard, Ward Melville, M, Jr.

Leonard spent much of last season hurt. In her return to the field last year, she scored three goals in the Suffolk championship. The Yale commit is a versatile midfielder who makes an impact on both sides of the ball.

Julia Lilienthal, Sayville, G, Sr.

Lilienthal is a dynamic lefty who has made big saves in big moments since her sophomore year. She has the ability to impact the game inside the crease, as well as outside of it by picking passes and facilitating the clear. The Vanderbilt commit made 129 saves last.

Olivia LoGiudice, Massapequa, M, Jr.

LoGiudice has incredible speed. The Stony Brook commit’s hustle is displayed on defense, in the clear and on ground balls.

Peyton Logue-Boyd, Babylon, M, Sr.

Logue-Boyd is strong in the draw circle. At 6-foot, she’s hard to stop and generates offensive opportunities. The Arizona State commit had 35 goals and 20 assists.

Alyssa Lorefice, Smithtown West, A, Sr.

Lorefice's 56 assists last season were the second-most in Suffolk. The Rutgers commit totaled 77 points. She is a true playmaker and the quarterback of Smithtown West’s offense.

Olivia Manago, Sacred Heart Academy, G, Jr.

Manago makes incredible saves in dangerous areas. The Duke commit is a lefty who is athletic and makes smart decisions in the clear.

Maribella Marciano, Smithtown West, G, Sr.

A varsity starter since eighth grade, Marciano tallied 113 saves and two assists last season. The Lehigh commit is the anchor of Smithtown West’s defensive unit, incredibly athletic and averaged only six goals against.

Sophia Masone, Mount Sinai, M, Sr.

The Georgetown commit is a force in the midfield and dynamic on the offensive end. Masone is a dual-threat lefty who can create offense both on and off the ball. She tallied 41 goals and seven assists. 

Kailyn Mastrogiovanni, Kellenberg, M, Jr.

Mastrogiovanni impacts every phase of the game. The Wagner commit had 26 goals and two assists while adding 18 ground balls, 16 caused turnovers and 30 draw controls. She plays with relentless energy and is a key presence for the Firebirds.

Tessa Matozzo, Locust Valley, A, Jr.

Matozzo led Locust Valley in goals with 58 and in points with 84. The East Carolina commit also tallied 44 draw controls and 30 ground balls. She is a dynamic offensive threat that hopes to lead Locust Valley back to the Nassau Class D championship game.

Kamryn McCrary, Comsewogue, M, Sr.

McCrary has consistently competed and excelled at the highest level. The James Madison commit recorded 39 goals and 21 assists while also dominating the defensive side of the field with 107 draw controls and 80 ground balls.

Ashley Mennella, Smithtown West, A, Sr.

A five-year year varsity starter, Mennella finished last season with 72 draw controls, 41 goals, 31 ground balls and two assists. The UMass commit is a force on the draw and difficult to defend on the dodge with her strength and speed.

Grace Miller, Bethpage, M, Sr.

Miller is a two-way midfielder who plays every minute of every game and occupies the opponent's best defenders. The Loyola commit led her team in points with 58 (52 goals, six assists) and plays a key role on the draw.

Kaleigh Moeller, Rocky Point, A, Sr.

Moeller is a driving force and leader for Rocky Point, making a tremendous impact on both ends of the field. Her high lacrosse IQ, competitiveness and willingness to contribute allows her to influence the game in multiple ways. The Florida State commit recorded 36 goals and 19 assists.

Nevaeh Motes, Division, M, Sr.

Motes is one of the fastest girls on the field at all times. The Longwood commit is a standout on the field both offensively and defensively and a huge asset in the clearing game. She tallied 36 goals and 19 assists and is a matchup nightmare.

Olivia Mulada, Cold Spring Harbor, A, Jr.

Mulada had 48 goals and 32 assists. She’s a shifty, lefthanded attacker who can create movement from anywhere inside the arc. The Syracuse commit will help lead the Seahawks as they hope to win their third straight state Class D title.

Katelynn Murtha, Eastport-South Manor, M, Jr.

Murtha is a terrific scorer, notching 35 goals. She has a dangerous off-ball presence and a tremendous shot. The South Florida commit is also a strong dodger.

Sophia Novelli, St. Anthony’s, D, Sr.

Novelli is the backbone of the Friars' defense. The Vanderbilt commit is a four-year varsity player who consistently performs at a high level. She combines strength and athleticism to shut down top offensive threats.

Ava Obloj, West Islip, M, Sr.

Obloj is a quick, versatile midfielder who can score, feed and occupy the opponent’s best defender. The Florida commit tallied 35 goals, 28 assists and 78 ground balls and will lead West Islip on its hunt for a county title.

Jenna Obloj, West Islip, M, Jr.

Obloj has incredible field sense and is a tenacious defensive midfielder. The Florida commit recorded 30 goals, 24 assists and 71 ground balls. Her vision on offense makes everyone better.

Regan O'Connor, Farmingdale, M, Jr.

O’Connor controls Farmingdale’s midfield, facilitating safe transition and creating opportunities on offense. On the defensive end, she is responsible for marking her opponent’s best attacker. The Maryland commit had 40 goals and 10 assists. .

Madison O'Hagan, Seaford, M, Jr.

O’Hagan is an all-around player. The Virginia Tech commit is a draw specialist and offensive catalyst who can impact the game on both ends. She plays with toughness and finished with 39 points.

Mairead O’Sullivan, Kellenberg, A, Jr.

A dynamic offensive threat, the Marquette commit had 30 goals and 14 assists. O'Sullivan can score and create for teammates while also contributing in the draw circle and on the ride. She quarterbacks the offense and is poised to have a lot of production.

Giovanna Pannitti, Plainedge, D, Jr.

Pannitti is a steady defender with an active stick. She will be a key component of the Red Devils’ back end.

Keira Pirozzi, Ward Melville, M, Sr.

Pirozzi is a scoring threat through the midfield and attacking sides of the ball. She is a natural athlete and a great finisher with strong takes to the cage. The Marist commit scored 44 goals. .

Addison Pitman, Sachem North, M, Jr.

Pitman is the kind of midfielder every team wants: tough, athletic and relentless. She impacts the game all over the field. The Pittsburgh commit tallied 43 goals and 26 assists.

Elizabeth Poirot, West Hempstead, A, Sr.

Poirot led Long Island in goals last season with an outstanding 77. She added 38 assists to also lead LI in points with 115. The Mercy commit is a lethal attacker who can create plays from anywhere inside the arc.

Deanna Prisco, Garden City, M, Sr.

Prisco is a high-impact midfielder who tallied 23 goals and eight assists on the Trojans’ road to the state title game. The Northwestern commit has prime two-way ability, combining her efficient scoring with non-stop action in transition.

Valentina Puccio, Huntington, M, Sr.

Puccio scored 38 goals, including the game-winner in overtime of the county semifinals. She also had 10 assists. The Hofstra commit is calm under pressure and delivers in key moments. 

Allie Reasoner, Sacred Heart Academy, M, Jr.

Reasoner had 25 goals, 12 assists, 16 caused turnovers and 43 draw controls. The Maryland commit impacts the game everywhere. She is terrific on the draw circle and an engine for Sacred Heart.

Madison Reedy, Carle Place, M, Jr.

Reedy will continue to power the Carle Place offense after posting 46 goals and 29 assists. The Northwestern commit connects seamlessly with her teammates and does an excellent job creating in both settled and transition situations.

Sara Richardt, Bayport-Blue Point, M, Sr.

Richardt is a key offensive threat for Bayport-Blue Point. The lefty has an excellent shot and uses her footwork to get by defenders. The Binghamton commit had 30 goals and 20 assists.

Olivia Romeo, Mount Sinai, M, Sr.

A dynamic two-way midfielder, the Stony Brook commit is gritty, tough and aggressive on both ends of the field and looks to expand her offensive role this year after coming back from injury.

Sophia Russo, Kings Park, A, Jr.

Russo is dangerous in unsettled situations and transition. The James Madison commit had 39 goals and 25 assists. She can score in a variety of ways while also setting up teammates and impacting the draw circle.

Cecilia Ryan, Bay Shore, G, Sr.

Ryan is the backbone of Bay Shore’s defense, recording 167 saves. The James Madison commit plays with confidence, directing her defense and putting teammates in the best position to succeed. She is poised, patient and competitive in and out of the crease.

Julie Shaughnessy, Syosset, A, Sr.

A five-year varsity athlete, Shaughnessy is an elite attacker who led Syosset with 66 points (38 goals, 28 assists) before missing the playoffs due to injury. In her return to the field, the Michigan commit hopes to lead her team back to the Nassau AAA championship game.

Lilly Silveira, Syosset, M, Jr.

Silveira is an explosive two-way midfielder. Her speed makes her an excellent downhill dodger and she scored 47 goals. The Boston College commit is also an impact defender, relied on to win the ball back and is able to push transition.

Averie Smith, Garden City, A, Sr.

Smith led Garden City with 59 points (33 goals, 26 assists).  The Yale commit is a gritty attacker with great field vision and ability to distribute the ball. In a bigger leadership position, Smith hopes to help lead the Trojans back to the state championship game.

Emma Speed, St. Anthony’s, A, Sr.

Speed was the Friars’ top scorer, recording 51 goals and 24 assists on St. Anthony’s road to its sixth straight CSHAA championship. The Florida commit will step into a bigger leadership role and control the offense this season.

Jadyn Stadler, Syosset, A/M, Jr.

Stadler is a versatile offensive threat. She is quick enough to get her hands free and score, while also drawing slides and displaying strong vision to find open teammates for easy goals. She had 26 goals and 25 assists. The Vanderbilt commit delivered in big moments.

Brooke Sullivan-Pagano, Hicksville, A, Sr.

Sullivan-Pagano is a difference-maker for Hicksville. Despite being an attacker, the Mercy commit is often on the draw circle and makes an impact all over the field. She totaled 69 goals and 18 assists.

Ava Tiedemann, Floyd, M, Sr.

Tiedemann is an aggressive midfielder with excellent speed and stick skills. The LIU commit will be an asset all over the field. She can read a pass exceptionally well and pick off a ball at any time. She tallied 41 goals, 57 draw controls and 42 ground balls.

Francesca Tofano, West Islip, M, Sr.

Tofano is a true two-way midfielder who can efficiently score and get back on defense. The Yale commit has great field sense and recorded 37 goals, five assists and 68 ground balls.

Reese Wallace, Islip, D, Sr.

Wallace is a lockdown defender who recorded 24 caused turnovers and 28 draw controls. A six-year varsity athlete, the Florida State commit proved her versatility in transition, adding seven goals and two assists.

Jolie Weinschreider, Huntington, M, Sr.

Weinschreider had 45 goals and 19 assists in helping lead Huntington to its first Long Island championship in 30 years. The Rutgers commit anticipates plays well and is a dynamic two-way midfielder.

Bridget Willcocks, Cold Spring Harbor, M, Jr.

Willcocks is a strong two-way midfielder who makes a big impact on the draw circle. The Marquette commit is a solid on-ball defender and will take on a larger role this season.

Peyton Wise, Plainedge, A, Jr.

Wise elevates the Plainedge offense and can score in big moments. She delivered 43 goals and 11 assists.

Elim Yang, Manhasset, A, Sr.

Yang had 39 goals and 30 assists for a team-high 69 points.  She quarterbacks the offense and does it very quietly until you see her stats at the end of the game. The Princeton commit is quick and sneaky inside the arc.
