High school roundup: Boys and girls soccer and field hockey

Andi Limaj scored on a free kick with 40 seconds remaining to lead Wantagh over Island Trees, 2-1, in Nassau A boys soccer on Saturday.

Hunter Arredondo opened the scoring with a minute left in the first half. Alex Jung made five saves for Wantagh (3-2-0). Jayden Ardila scored for Island Trees (1-4-2).

Carle Place 5, Oyster Bay 1: Cristiano Costa and Anthony Maffettone each scored two goals to lift Carle Place (8-0) in Nassau B. Justin Escobar added a goal and two assists. Jesel Cruz scored for Oyster Bay (3-3-1).

Sayville 3, Center Moriches 2: Kenny Cabanas scored twice and Anthony Burke added another for Sayville (1-5-1) in non-league. Kevin Ortez and Alex Rotunda scored for Center Moriches (4-4).

GIRLS SOCCER

Syosset 2, Massapequa 1: Gabby Leone scored the go-ahead goal with eight minutes remaining for Syosset (3-2) in Nassau AAA/AA-I. Victoria Ranieri assisted Mia Barrie’s tying goal in the second half. Tate Soifer made 12 saves. Lexi Daniels scored for Massapequa (3-2-2). Haley D’Orio made nine saves.

North Shore 6, Glen Cove 0: Alessia Marotta had two goals and one assist for North Shore (2-4-1) in non-league. Giovanna Corridan had a goal and two assists. Kashvi Bhogadi had a goal and an assist. Sophia Mammone had 10 saves for Glen Cove (6-2).

Mount Sinai 7, East Hampton 1: Sophia Homan and Alexa Cergol each had a hat trick to lead Mt. Sinai (5-0) in Suffolk III. Morgan Cavanagh scored a goal. Charlotte Laraque made four saves. Amy Salto had 11 saves for East Hampton (4-4).

FIELD HOCKEY

Newfield 4, Lindenhurst 0: Maddison DeChiaro scored three goals and assisted another for Newfield (2-4) in Suffolk I. Julianna Baldante added a goal. Karlie Sitler had three saves for Newfield. Nicole Prystash made five saves for Lindenhurst (0-3-1).

Casey Hubbard made 14 saves for Riverhead (1-5).

Ward Melville 2, Commack 0: Liv Marksberry and Olivia Panasci each scored a goal to lead Ward Melville (5-1) in Suffolk I. Megan DeLaiarro saved 17 shots for Commack (2-4).
