Even though the new Hamptons health-focused eatery, SunLife Organics was founded in Malibu, California its new Sag Harbor outpost it fits right in. The organic juice and smoothie chain took over the space which used to be Estia’s Little Kitchen at 1615 Bridgehampton-Sag Harbor Turnpike and opened Memorial Day weekend.
Owner Khalil Rafati founded the business in 2011 with business partner Hayley Gorcey. Rafati said he was introduced to juicing and superfoods and from a friend during addition recovery and he "never turned back."
"I very addictively grabbed on to the superfoods and the juices and the smoothies, like a drowning man sees a life preserver, and I never let go," Rafati said.
While the brand has 25 stores across the country, including in New York City, the Sag Harbor outpost is the only one that functions as a restaurant with a kitchen.
Rafati credits his staff for coming up with the seed oil and gluten free menu.
"They wanted to be respectful of the previous business," Rafati said. "They wanted to try as hard as they could to offer similar options."

The menu includes breakfast and lunch dishes such as the sunrise wrap ($20) made with bacon, eggs, heirloom cherry tomato, raw sharp Cheddar on a cassava tortilla served with citrus cream and salsa Verde on the side. The lunch menu includes the must-try loaded sweet potato ($25). Which is a whole sweet potato loaded with miso chive sour cream, turmeric free-range chicken, citrus crema and served on a bed of Tuscan citrus kale salad and microgreens.
Their "signature superfood shakes" include the mint chocolate chip ($19) made with banana, raw vanilla plant protein, raw almond butter, Himalayan pink salt, raw cacao nibs, mint, raw local honey, spinach, almond milk, topped with raw cacao nibs and fresh mint garnish. There are also fresh juices such as the "glow" ($13 for a 20 oz.) made with apple, carrot, turmeric, ginger, lemon and aloe vera.
Rafati said he hopes to keep the store front open year-round.
