Gregory Grizopoulos R
Council member, Town of Huntington

Credit: Gregory Grizopoulos
BACKGROUND
- Grizopoulos, 48, of Melville, is a registered Conservative and is running on the Republican and Conservative party lines in the general election.
- He received a law degree from The University at Buffalo School of Law in 2002, and was an assistant district attorney for Nassau County from 2002 to 2006.
- Grizopoulos did personal injury and criminal defense from 2006 to 2011, before opening his private practice in 2011.
ISSUES
- Grizopoulous said the Maxess Road and Corporate Center Drive area of Melville should be redeveloped, but it must be done in a way that does not negatively impact the school district and protects the area’s home values. He prefers single-family homes over high-density apartments.
- He wants to “enhance public safety” by working with the police precinct to make sure certain areas, including by Maxess Road, see enforcement, as he said he is concerned that if left unchecked it will help increase quality-of-life offenses.
- Grizopoulos does not want taxes to go up, and “what we’re already paying, we’re getting good services from the town.”
