Savannah Speicher had a hit, an RBI, a run scored and struck out six over five innings in Plainedge’s 5-3 win over Mineola in Nassau II softball on Saturday. Meghan Moore had a hit, an RBI and a run scored. Kailyn Eaton, Abby Long and Charlotte Welsh each had a hit and an RBI. Alexis Fontana allowed no hits, no runs and struck out two over two innings to earn the save for Plainedge (11-5). Julianna Plunkett had two hits and scored a run for Mineola (10-5).

Floral Park 7, South Side 6: Olivia Lawlor hit a walk-off single in the tenth inning for Floral Park (9-5) in Nassau IV. Lawlor finished with two hits and two RBIs. Kira Zielinski had two hits and two RBIs and Chloe Ng had three hits and scored a run. Chloe Zielinski had three hits, an RBI and struck out eight.

Miller Place 6, Westhampton 4: Delaney Schleider homered and hit a go-ahead two-RBI double in the eighth for Miller Place (12-3) in non-league. Sadie Bryant hit a home run to tie it in the seventh. Tiffany Clasen induced a double play to end the game. Evelyn Kuroski had three hits and an RBI for Westhampton (12-4).

BASEBALL

Herricks 4, Baldwin 3: Charlie Schmidt hit a walk-off single with the bases loaded in the seventh for Herricks (11-1-1) in Nassau AAA-II. Schmidt went 1-for-2 with a walk and HBP. Logan Aulicino hit an infield single to drive in a run and tie it in the sixth. Argas Abdelrahman got the win in relief, striking out four over three innings and allowing one run. Dayvein DeVargas hit a home run for Baldwin (6-10-1) to take a 3-2 lead in the sixth.

Bellmore JFK 6, Massapequa 5: Derek Yormack went 2-for-3 with two solo home runs to lead Bellmore JFK (11-3) in non-league. Zach Adelstein hit a home run, drove in two runs and earned the save with a scoreless bottom of the seventh inning. Matt Tolipano added two hits, two walks and an RBI. Derek Fong drove in a run. On the mound, Dylan Babek pitched 2 2⁄3 innings with three strikeouts, then Aiden Miller threw 3 1⁄3 scoreless to earn the win.

BOYS LACROSSE

Locust Valley 17, Hewlett 10: James Fox had four goals and nine assists to lead Locust Valley (7-4) in a Nassau II-B/III-A crossover. Wiliam Nabet finished with six goals. John Amitrano scored five goals for Hewlett (7-4).

Freeport 9, Great Neck South 8: Enrique Mendoza-Pineyro had two goals and three assists for Freeport (7-5) in a Nassau III-B/IV crossover. Jeremy Henderson scored four goals and Anthony Pinto had four assists. Alex Menzies and will Gleason each scored two goals for Great Neck South (5-6).

GIRLS LACROSSE

Smithtown West 12, Comsewogue 10: Molly Hyland had three goals and an assist and Ashley Mennella scored three goals to lead Smithtown West (7-3) in Suffolk II. Alyssa Lorefice had two goals and two assists and Kaitlyn Mennella had two goals and an assist. Kamryn McCrary had four goals and an assist for Comsewogue (6-5).

FLAG FOOTBALL

East Rockaway 7, West Hempstead 0: Danilynn Fardella rushed for the game’s only score, a 30-yard touchdown, in the first quarter to lead East Rockaway (9-4) in Nassau III. Fardella then completed a one-point conversion pass to Sofia Ferkov.

MacArthur 13, Valley Stream District 0: Alexa Coppola caught a touchdown and had two interceptions for MacArthur (13-0-1) in non-league. Meaghan Campbell caught seven passes for 68 yards and Katelynn Paulich added a touchdown run. Sophie Midy had 10 flag pulls. Kayla Camacho had two sacks and Taylor Garro had a sack.
