McKenna Gevinski hit a walk-off solo home run in the bottom of the seventh inning for Westhampton’s softball team in a 5-4 win over East Hampton Monday in Suffolk IV. Katie Burke had a double in the bottom of the sixth inning to drive in Evelyn Kuroski, tying the game at four. Kayla Blair hit a two-run home run.
Alexa Schaffer had a two-run home run for East Hampton (6-2).
Holy Trinity 10, St. John the Baptist 0: Tia DePalo allowed no hits in four innings with nine strikeouts and went 1-for-3 with a double to lead Holy Trinity (4-2) in NSCHSAA. Emma Brussel was 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Jaeda Bartfield went 1-for-2 with a home run and three RBIs.
Floral Park 18, Valley Stream North 10: Eighth grader Molly Turner hit a home run to lead Floral Park (6-3) in Nassau IV. Chloe Zielinski went 3-for-6 with a triple and three RBIs. Eighth grader Olivia Lawlor went 2-for-5 with a triple. Marissa Martella went 4-for-5.
Bethpage 14, East Meadow 0: Rylee Petruskie allowed one hit with 11 strikeouts in five innings to lead Bethpage (7-3) in Nassau II. Gabby Keener went 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Isabella Lomangino hit a double with the bases loaded to drive in three runs.
Saturday’s games
St. Anthony’s 9, St. Joseph by the Sea 6: Sophia Lee went 2-for-4, including a triple with the bases loaded in the seventh inning to break a 3-3 tie, for St. Anthony’s (8-2) in non-league.
East Islip 14, Bellport 2: Marisa Renganeschi went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and four stolen bases for East Islip (5-3) in Suffolk III. Lexi Kneisel went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles and three RBIs. She had her 100th career hit, becoming the 10th East Islip player since 2012 to do so, according to coach Jason McGowan. East Islip celebrated its first annual Laney McGowan legacy game.
Great Neck North 24, Friends Academy 18: Down four entering the seventh inning, Great Neck North (5-3) scored 11 runs to secure the win as Juhie Yoon went 5-for-7 with four doubles and a grand slam in Nassau VI. Liana Kase went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, three walks and a home run. Daniella Cohen went 4-for-5 with five runs scored and two stolen bases.
Oyster Bay 15, West Hempstead 1: Maddy Loayza threw a six-inning no-hitter and went 2-for-2 with five RBIs to lead Oyster Bay (6-2) in Nassau V.
BASEBALL
Long Island Lutheran 2, Kellenberg 0: Matt Muzikant pitched a complete-game shutout on 76 pitches, allowing two hits and no walks while striking out five for Long Island Lutheran (7-5) in its non-league win. Matthew Garib went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in the first inning. Cameron Coco went 1-for-2 with a walk, a double and a run scored. LuHi’s infield defense had 12 putouts and did not record an error to aid in the shutout.
Great Neck South 10, Lawrence 0: Blake Furst allowed two hits and had 15 strikeouts in a complete game for Great Neck South (5-5) in Nassau Countywide. Yunkai Li had two hits and two RBIs.
BOYS LACROSSE
Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK 11, Bethpage 8: Goalie Jake Ilardo assisted Alex DeFranco’s goal and made 14 saves for Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK (2-6) in its non-league win. Alex Kantrowitz had three goals, and Chris Tripoli had two goals and an assist. Kyle Gregory and Alex DeFranco added two goals apiece, with the latter also recording an assist. Brett Lipins won 14 faceoffs. Charlie Abramo had two goals and two assists for Bethpage (6-4).
GIRLS LACROSSE
New Hyde Park 11, Wheatley 9: Francesca Curatolo scored five goals for New Hyde Park (5-2) in Nassau III. Gia Cefaloni had two goals and two assists. Brigid O’Connor had three goals and an assist.
Floyd 11, Commack 10: Julia Hipperling made 13 saves for Floyd (6-2) in Suffolk I. Emma DiMaio had five goals and an assist. Rylie Wiegand had four goals and an assist. Ashley Arizonis had four goals and two assists for Commack (3-6).
Wantagh 8, North Shore 3: Maddy Gonzalez had 12 saves to lead Wantagh (2-9) in Nassau I. Kylie Coners had five draw controls and five caused turnovers.
Calhoun 10, Seaford 9: Kayla Kalinoglu and Angie Kasimatis both scored three goals to lead Calhoun (6-5) in Nassau II. Tess McGuire added two goals and three assists. Molly Hofmayer made 10 saves. Kayle Harrington and Madison O’Hagan both had three goals for Seaford (5-6).

Cold Spring Harbor 6, West Hempstead 0: Keagan Callaghan scored a 70-yard rushing touchdown as time expired to lead Cold Spring Harbor (6-2) in Nassau III.
GIRLS BADMINTON
East Rockaway 4, Valley Stream North 3: Bree Manzano and Caileigh McDade won the deciding match, 24-22, 21-19, against Mahkila Crosley and Destiny McNulty in third doubles to lead East Rockaway (5-1) in Nassau V.
