  • He has served as chairman of the Massapequa Water District Board of Water Commissioners and as an officer on the executive board of the Nassau Suffolk Water Commissioners Association. ISSUES

  • Hand said one of his top priorities is fiscal discipline — to continue to ensure that every dollar spent is done so responsibly, while delivering the best services.
  • Hand also plans to continue paving projects, upgrades and enhancements at recreational facilities, and to protect communities from zombie properties.
  • Safeguarding the environment by increasing initiatives with water quality protection remains an area of focus, as does making historical improvements to downtown Hicksville.
