BACKGROUND

  • Farnan, 64, of Glen Cove, is a registered Republican and is running on the Republican and Conservative party lines in the general election. He is seeking a second term. He was appointed to the city council in February 2023 to complete the term of Joseph Capobianco, who was elected city court judge.
  • He is a lifelong resident of Glen Cove and is a 1980 graduate of Glen Cove High School. He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance from Adelphi University in Garden City.
  • Farnan is an insurance tech in the Nassau County Attorney’s Office in Mineola. He previously served six years on the Glen Cove school board.

ISSUES

  • Farnan said he would seek to “keep the momentum going, holding the line on taxes and supporting our first responders and our department of public works.”
  • He said that if elected he would work to maintain and improve city buildings, recreational facilities and parks.
  • Farnan said he is endorsed by the Long Island Regional and the Glen Cove local offices of the CSEA public employees union, the Long Island Federation of Labor/AFL-CIO and the LiUNA!NY construction union.
