BACKGROUND

• Ktistakis, 53, is a registered Republican and is running on the Republican and Conservative party lines in the general election. He is seeking a second two-year term. He previously served for one year as an appointed member on the City of Glen Cove Board of Zoning Appeals.
• He grew up in Glen Cove and is a 1990 graduate of Glen Cove High School. He has a finance degree from LIU Post.
• Ktistakis owns and operates All Island Lawn Maintenance in Glen Cove. He volunteers at Glen Cove community events, including for his parish, the Church of the Holy Resurrection in Brookville.

ISSUES

• Ktistakis said that as the city beautification liaison he turned the beautification committee into a not-for profit organization, which he said has sponsored plantings and community cleanups and appointed its first student liaison from Glen Cove High School.
• He said he has brought local businesses and the Glen Cove Chamber of Commerce together to use social media to promote local restaurants, shops and events.
• Ktistakis said he has worked with Mayor Pamela D. Panzenbeck to fund equipment upgrades for first responders.
