  • He is a 40-year resident of Glen Cove and is a semiretired insurance executive.
  • Perrone previously served on the city’s zoning board and planning boards for a cumulative 30 years. He is a member of the Glen Cove Recreation Commission and serves on the Glen Cove Football and Cheerleading youth sports board.

ISSUES

  • Perrone said the city needs a plan for repairing, replacing and maintaining city buildings, grounds and equipment.
  • He said he is running because “I genuinely care about our city, not only for me but for my children, grandchildren and other people’s children who are leaving the city.” He added, “I live life by a simple premise: If you see something is broken try to fix it. If you don’t then you are part of the problem.”
  • He said the city needs to address “quality-of-life issues” such as “blatant building and ordinance violations” and the need for more affordable housing.
