BACKGROUND

  • Zozzaro, 53, of Glen Cove, is not registered with a party and is running on the Democratic Party line in the general election. He was elected in 2023 and is seeking reelection.
  • He is a lifelong Glen Cove resident, a 1990 Glen Cove High School graduate and has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from New York Institute of Technology. He has been in the restaurant industry for more than 30 years and recently opened a pizza restaurant in Bayville.
  • Zozzaro is a board member at the Nicholas Pedone Foundation, which has raised more than $1 million for hospitals for children with cancer.

ISSUES

  • Zozzaro said he is trying to do what’s right for the people of Glen Cove in terms of their everyday concerns. “It’s not about left or right with me,” he said.
  • Zozzaro said that he will continue to listen to his neighbors in Glen Cove and what their needs are, to represent them and their voices on the city council.
  • He said constituents want the city to develop more affordable housing and attract more jobs to bring customers to local businesses and create revenue streams that don’t depend on taxing Glen Cove residents.
